Fostering conversations through a fun card game.
THE CHALLENGE
People with special needs face a lot of difficulty in accessing play based learning considering the kind of accessibility and assistance they require. Differently abled people are subjected to social isolation from an early age because of discrimination and barriers existing in society.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
How might we bridge the communication gaps between neurotypical and neurodiverse folks and help them foster social connections?
RESEARCH
Research for this project has been done through both- Primary and Secondary Sources. Some sources include array of special educators, parents/caregivers of children with special needs and an online community of neurodivergent individuals

As autistic individuals transition into adulthood the social demands drastically increase, often forcing them into isolation and exclusion from society at large.
The problem also stems from lack of relaxed social interaction and a communication gap between neurotypical and neurodivergent population

Play helps in the holistic development of a child through teaching social, communication and language development
A card game designed to bridge the communication gap between neurotypical and neurodivergent folks. The game can be played in a family setting with autistic folks to help them communicate their feelings & opinions whilst having fun and learning so much more about their co-players.
ENTIDY
This project was done under the Ludic Design for Accessibility wing of Microsoft.
The project was also a part of my final thesis towards my B.Des degree from Srishti Institute of Art, Bangalore. The thesis received a special commendation from the university.
